How to fit your product

A simple guide to securely mounting your 53 West products using our concealed fixing system.

For products supplied with two concealed mountings:

The supplied screws and wall plugs are intended for suitable solid masonry walls. Other surfaces may need different fixings.

Brick or concrete: Use an 8 mm masonry drill bit for the supplied wall plugs.
Plasterboard: Use suitable plasterboard fixings.
Wood or doors: Wall plugs aren't needed for solid timber. Shorter screws may be required.

Always choose fixings suitable for your surface and the weight you intend to hang. Check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling.

Turn your product over and locate the two centre marks above the concealed mountings.

Measure the distance between the marks and make a note of it.

Choose where you'd like to position your product.

Mark the position of either the left or right fixing on your wall or door.

Using the measurement from Step 1, measure horizontally from your first mark and mark the position of the other fixing.

Use a spirit level to check that both marks are level.

Drill a hole at each marked position.

For brick or concrete: Use an 8 mm masonry drill bit and drill holes at least 50 mm deep for the supplied wall plugs.

For other surfaces: Use a drill bit and fixings suitable for the material you're mounting onto.

Position a green button over each hole, with the flat side against the wall or door and the recessed side facing outwards.

Secure each button using the supplied 5 × 50 mm screws, or suitable alternative 5 mm diameter screws of the correct length for your mounting surface.

Tighten securely without overtightening.

Align the two concealed mountings on the back of your product with the green buttons.

Push the product against the wall or door, then slide it down until both mountings click securely into place.

Check that your product is level, both mountings are fully engaged and everything is securely attached.
